Adaptive routing algorithm for load balancing in telecommunications networks


This review is about the "Adaptive routing algorithm for load balancing in telecommunications networks," written by ARAUJO, Aluízio FR and Vittoria, for explain an adaptive routing algorithm, the Q-Agents, based on the interaction of three learning strategies with a aim for provide better performance and quality of data traffic on telecommunications networks.
Containing of six chapters: Introduction, Routing in Networks Telecommunications, Q-Agents: An adaptive algorithm, Description of Experiments, Discussion and Conclusion. In eighteen pages the article shows the importance of routing in networks telecommunications, as a fundamental mechanism in the control operation of the network. Throughout the text, the author and justifies the applications through experiments involving the main operating parameters of the network: the traffic pattern, load level and topology.
The article has a clear and objective language, which explains the operation of a routing dynamic and distributed algorithms, comparing them with the collective behavior of ants to, with the implementation of the Q learning, develop a new standard for routing algorithms: The Agent-Q. The mathematical expressions aren’t used in excess, making the text easy to understand and the reading less tiring.
The experiments are cohesive and give a real fact to the performance test, unveil the main conflicting points with other routing technologies and presenting an exciting performance.
This article is highly recommended for network administrators, because shows the knowledge about new technologies in the area and contribute to a better understanding of the system that involves routing in telecommunications networks.
