Robotics

Robotics is the mix of knowledge of mechanical, computer, electrical and electronics with the purpose to automate processes performed by humans through devices that are known robots.

The word “robot” came from the Czech’s word “robota”, that meaning "forced job".

The pioneer models of robotics applications have been found in an old Greek civilization. Those “robots” were systems that used pneumatic pumps and weights, they looked like humans or animals. The ancient civilizations had no practical or economic necessity and there wasn’t any complex productivity system that would require the existence of such instruments. Arab scientists have added an important new concept to the traditional idea of robotics, concentrating their searches in order to assign tasks to robots according the human needs. The term robotics became known worldwide after a publication of the book "I, Robot" by Isaac Asimov.
